Audio Feature Complete Guide: How to Insert BGM and SFX to Your Projects
As we’ve released the Audio feature just a few weeks ago, we know it’s a must to also include a tutorial to help you navigate the feature better. Don’t you?
So in this article, we’re gonna dive deep into Assemblr Studio Audio feature and how to insert the BGM and SFX—because they’re two different things.
While they’re categorized under the same feature, BGM serves as background music along your entire or specific scenes—meanwhile SFX acts as sound effects
Let’s get started!
How to Insert Background Music (BGM) on Assemblr Studio
1. On your Editor, click Audio.

2. Feel free to upload your own BGM to suit your project theme.

Make sure that the audio formats are in the form of either MP3, WAV, or OGG.
If you want, you can also choose the BGM from our Audio library. We’ve got a few to help you get started.

3. When you click on the audio, you can preview it using the play button.
And if you’re good with it, click "Use".

4. On this panel, you can do several things related to your BGM.

1. Change the name of the BGM
2. Play the preview
3. Set the volume by sliding left or right
4. Choose the audio type. Since we’ll use BGM, click on the BGM text.
5. Choose how you want the BGM to be played—be it on the entire project (global) or a specific scene.
If you want it to play on a scene, just click on the scene that you want, and insert the audio.
6. Set if you want the audio to loop or not
If you’re done tweaking the settings, simply click "Place".
5. There’s your BGM on your project!

If you need to edit your BGM, you can refer to the right panel on your Editor.

There’s an option for you to change your audio, and if you’re done setting the whole thing, simply click "Update".
How to Insert Sound Effects (SFX) on Assemblr Studio
1. On your Editor, click Audio.

2. Just like BGM, you can also upload your own sound effects.

However, make sure that the formats are in MP3, WAV, and OGG.
Alternatively, we’ve got tons of sound effects provided in our Audio library that suit your needs.

3. Preview the sounds first to make sure that they’re okay.

You can also do the same thing with our Audio library.
If you’re done, click "Use".
4. On this panel, feel free to do some settings for your sound effects.
First up, click SFX on this toggle.

Then you’re going to see a different panel.

You can give names, preview, and change the volume.
Also, you can choose whether you want your audio to loop or not.
If you’re done, click "Place". And just like the BGM, it also displays the settings on the right panel to change your audio and update it.
But that’s not the end of it. We’ve still got a few more to follow!
Insert Interactivity for Sound Effects
Yup, SFX is sliiiightly different in terms of the ways on how to input your audio. We’ll show you how:
1. Click on an object that you want to set as the trigger of the sound.

This means that when you click on the object, the sound will appear.
2. After that, click Add Interactivity on the right panel.

And then choose the Sound Effect one.

3. You can change the action label according to the sound that you’re going to use.

Next, time to choose the sound effect!

It’s very possible to have more than one sound effect in one project, so be careful not to mix the sound ;)
Also, you can do more advanced settings by changing the starting time.

This means when you click on the trigger object, the sound will start playing after the duration that you input. If you're done, click "Apply".
4. That’s it! Your SFX has been successfully inserted!
Isn’t that easy? Let’s follow the steps, and get ready to make your projects much more fun and exciting with Audio!
